A Michigan police officer faced sentencing today for assaulting a black man driving a Cadillac. During a routine traffic stop the man was pulled over. As the two police officers walked up to the vehicle the black man held his hands outside of his window. The two police officers then pulled the man out of his vehicle, threw him to the ground and one officer (William Melendez) punched him 16 times in the head. The police officers joked about the incident as they wiped the man's blood off of their uniforms. The incident was captured via the police car's dash cam. The honorable Vonda Evans a black judge called them "racist police officers looking to do a (N-word)" before sentencing Melendez to 13-10 years in prison.
